ABC Wednesday: I is for...

ICE. Very big Ice.
We had a 55 gallon trash can fill with water, then freeze the winter of 2008-9.
When we upended it, it retained its shape, for about a week.
It was really rather pretty.
This last winter was very mild, with none of the extremes of the previous one.

The detail of the giant Ice cube, with streaks of bubbles.

I thought at first it was an ice sculpture, which of course, it is! Done by nature, instead of the hand of man, but a sculpture, nonetheless! Good one!

On behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday this week! :)

Another idea for your ice-art next winter: fill up a balloon with water and leave outside until frozen. Take the balloon bit off and you have a nice tea-light!

The 2nd photo was particularly cool, in every sense of the word!
