Eagle captured in flight

Another woodcarving from driving around town.
This one is a favorite by local chainsaw carver
Dennis Chastain - Den's Wood Den.
It's probably 8 foot long - wingtip to wingtip,
with a 2 or 3 foot steelhead.
We've watched him work on his carvings.
It's fascinating to watch,
even with the noise of the chainsaw.
Watching him take a tree trunk and transform it using a machine that scares the daylights out of me.
My husband is a carver, but he uses hand tools.
He and Denny talked about carving.
Denny said he tried hand tools, but didn't like them.
I guess it's all in what you're used to.
Denny worked in the timber industry,
so a chainsaw comes naturally to him;
and he's an artist with it.

Fascinating that somebody can do that! I'd love to see him carve with the chainsaw.

Come and visit Forks! He has a shop south of here where he does his carving most of the year.
